Sometimes, instead of clicking the Unsubscribe link at the footer of your email, a contact may email you directly with a request to unsubscribe. You can also permanently delete a user's information from your list. Manually processing a request to unsubscribe can help you maintain a good sender reputation.

Make sure you know the difference between deleting a contact and unsubscribing a contact. Read more here.

Unsubscribe a contact

1. Select the Contacts tab in your top navigation of your email marketing tab in your Tailwind dashboard.

2. Choose the list your contact is on:

3. Use the search field to look for the contact by email address:

4. Click the three horizontal dots in the contact line and select Unsubscribe:

From here, you can also edit the contact, delete the contact, or add them to your suppression list.

5. You'll see a message asking you to confirm the action, then the contact will be unsubscribed.

Permanently delete a contact

1. Select the Contacts tab in your top navigation:

2. Choose the list your contact is on:

3. Use the search field to look for the contact by email address:

4. Click the three horizontal dots in the contact line and select Permanently delete:

5. You'll see a message asking you to confirm the action, then the contact will be permanently deleted.

Helpful Tip: If you permanently delete a contact from your list, all of their data and information will be lost -- even if they choose to sign up again.
