How to Set Up Business Manager and Ad Accounts to Run Ads on Facebook and Instagram

In order to advertise on Facebook and Instagram, you’ll need to first create a Facebook Page for your business. Any page you create will have an associated ad account and account ID created by default.

If you don’t own the page you’re trying to advertise for, you’ll first need to request so that your Facebook profile is a permissions role of admin, editor, or advertiser.

In addition to having a Facebook Page set up, you’ll also need to set up Meta Business Manager. To do this, go to business.facebook.com/overview and click “Create Account” to set one up.

Once you have Business Manager set up, you’ll need to connect a Page to it by going to Business Settings, selecting Accounts, and then clicking Pages. See Facebook’s up to date article for detailed instructions.

Next, you’ll want to connect an ad account. Again, go to Business Settings, select Accounts, then select Ad Accounts. Facebook’s up to date article can walk you through any potential issues with this process.
