To update your credit card, go to your Billing / Statements page in Settings, click "Update Billing Info" next to your current card, and securely enter your new card details. If your account is past due, updating your card immediately retries the outstanding charge and restores your subscription if it succeeds.
Updating your Credit Card in Tailwind is easy, click the button or follow the steps listed!
Go to your Billing/Statements (located in the settings menu in the top right hand navigation).
Click the "Update Billing Info" button just to the right of your current information.
You'll be taken to a new page to securely enter in your new credit card and update.
Important: This does not change your Billing Email address, where you might get failed payment notifications. Please send us a message in chat to update it for you!
If you add a card from the Payment methods panel in Settings
Adding a card in the Payment methods panel in Settings saves the card to your account, but it does not automatically make it the card we bill. Your previous card stays active on the subscription — so if that older card is failing, it will keep being retried and your payments can keep declining even though you have just added a good card.
If you add a card this way, also set the new card as the active card on your subscription (choose the Set as active option on the new card), and then you can remove the old one.
If your account is past due, the card update link in your past-due email is the simplest path to use — that link activates the new card for you automatically. We're aware that the Payment methods panel behaves differently and it's being tracked as a bug.
Updating Your Card When Your Account Is Past Due
If a recent payment failed and your account is past due, updating your card here will automatically retry the outstanding charge right away using your new card. If the charge goes through, your subscription is restored immediately—you don't need to wait for the next billing attempt. If the new card is also declined, the charge will continue to be retried on your normal billing schedule, and you can update to a different card at any time to retry immediately. If your subscription is ultimately cancelled for non-payment, we'll email you to let you know and explain how to resubscribe.
