After you change your username on Pinterest, Tailwind updates it automatically within 24 hours. To refresh it immediately, go to your Account Settings and click the Refresh button next to your username — it saves automatically. To switch Tailwind to an entirely different Pinterest account, contact support with the account's Pinterest URL.
Uh-oh, have a case of Mistaken Pinterest Identity? Not to worry, we can fix that!
Updating your Username in Tailwind after changing it on Pinterest
If you've just changed your username on Pinterest, and you're not seeing your new username yet in Tailwind, don't worry! It will automatically be updated within 24 hours. If you don't feel like waiting any longer, here's how you can refresh it yourself right now.
Go to your Account Settings (located in the settings menu in the top right hand navigation).
Click the Refresh button next to your username to update your Pinterest username immediately.
Note: You don't need to click on the "Save Changes" button - the username refresh saves automatically for you!
Important: You do not need to disconnect and reconnect your Pinterest profile to update your username — the Refresh button above is all it takes. Disconnecting and reconnecting creates a separate, new connection in Tailwind and can cause you to lose access to Pins, boards, and other content scheduled under the old connection. If your username still isn't updating after 24 hours or a Refresh, please contact support rather than disconnecting.
Account still showing as "Disconnected" in Settings, with a Reconnect button? If your account still appears in Settings → Accounts with a Reconnect button on it, click Reconnect on that same entry rather than adding it as a new account. This re-authorizes the existing connection in place with no data loss. Using "Add Pinterest account" instead creates a brand-new connection and leaves your old content orphaned.
Account no longer listed in Settings at all (you removed/disconnected it and it disappeared from the list)? There's no entry left to click Reconnect on in this case — adding the account back creates a brand-new connection rather than automatically restoring the old one. Don't assume your old content is gone for good, though: contact support right away. In many cases content from the old connection can be manually recovered, though this isn't guaranteed. The sooner you reach out, the better the chances of restoring it.
