How to Create Carousel Pins for Pinterest

What are carousel Pins?

Carousel Pins let you include 2 to 5 images in a single Pin. Each image becomes a slide that people can swipe through on Pinterest. Each slide can have its own title, description, and destination link.

Carousel Pins are fully supported in Pin Scheduler — you can create, schedule, and publish them to Pinterest just like single-image Pins.

Requirements

  • A Pinterest business account (personal accounts are not supported)

  • 2 to 5 images — videos cannot be included in a carousel

  • All images must have the same aspect ratio (Pinterest will reject the Pin if they don't match)

How to create a carousel Pin

Start by uploading an image draft to Pin Scheduler as you normally would. Once your carousel is ready, it will schedule and publish to Pinterest like any other Pin. Here's how to set it up:

  1. Hover over the Pin image in your draft card

  2. Click the Carousel toggle button

  3. Click the + button in the thumbnail strip below the image to add more slides (up to 5 total)

  4. Drag and drop the thumbnails to reorder your slides

To remove a slide, hover over its thumbnail and click the × button.

Customizing each slide

By default, all slides in a carousel share the same title, description, and link. To give each slide its own details:

  1. Hover over the Pin image and click the Per-slide toggle (appears next to the Carousel toggle)

  2. Click on a slide thumbnail to select it

  3. Edit the title, description, and link for that slide

This is useful when each slide links to a different product or page.

Combining existing drafts into a carousel

If you already have individual image drafts uploaded, you can combine them into a single carousel Pin:

  1. Select 2 to 5 image drafts using the checkboxes

  2. Click Combine into carousel in the bulk action bar

  3. The first selected draft becomes the primary image and the remaining drafts become additional slides

Titles, descriptions, and links from each draft carry over to their respective slides. The individual drafts are removed after combining.

Things to know

  • Carousel Pins schedule and publish to Pinterest in Pin Scheduler just like single-image Pins — no extra steps needed beyond creating the carousel

  • Carousel Pins are images only — videos cannot be added to a carousel

  • All slides must have the same aspect ratio. If they don't match, you'll see a warning and Pinterest will reject the Pin

  • You can edit your carousel anytime before it publishes — add, remove, or reorder slides, and update per-slide details

Troubleshooting

I don't see the Carousel toggle on my draft. The Carousel toggle appears when you hover over an image draft in Pin Scheduler. Check the following:

  • Your Pinterest account must be a business account (personal accounts are not supported for carousel Pins)

  • The draft must be an image — video drafts do not support the carousel option

  • Product tags and carousel cannot be used on the same Pin. If you have product tags on the draft, remove them first

If you meet all of the above requirements and still don't see the Carousel toggle, please contact our support team for assistance.
