What is Product Tagging?
Product tags are a powerful feature to help drive sales for eCommerce business, whether you sell physical or digital products
When you add product tags to a Pin, users on Pinterest will see direct links alongside the Pin to the pages where users they can buy the relevant products
Product tags work with your Product catalogs on Pinterest
Beyond enabling you to tag products on your Pins, there are other significant benefits to setting up your Product catalogs on Pinterest:
Products in your catalogs can also be tagged by other users on their own Pins linking to your website. This helps increase word of mouth exposure for your product listings.
These products can also show in shopping-oriented places across Pinterest, such as high commercial intent search results and product suggestions ("You might also like....")
An important note: Product tagging is only allowed on Pinterest business accounts.
As such, Tailwind will only show the option if the Pinterest account you're working on in Tailwind is a business account.
How to tag products on your Pins in Tailwind:
Create a draft Pin using any supported method - media upload, CSV upload, SmartPin, design a Pin, etc.
Go to Pin Scheduler and find the draft Pin.
Product tagging works with both image and Carousel Pins at launch.
Hover over the Pin image and click "Tag products"
This will prompt you to select the products from your Pinterest product catalog that you wish to tag on the Pin, then click Save
And that's it - from here, just schedule and publish the Pin as you normally would!
If you haven't set up a product catalog yet, then you'll see a link to where you can do so on Pinterest. Once your catalog is set up, you'll see the products you added available to be selected. You may need to exit the Pin draft and refresh the page first for the products to load.
To Edit Product Pins you've added to a Pin Draft:
Pin drafts with Product Pins will show a tag with the # of products that have been added to it -- click that tag
This will bring you into the product selection flow, where you can remove or add products as tags for the Pin
When done, click Save as you did when first adding the product tags
