How do I bulk upload to Tailwind via CSV file?

This article shows you how to import Pins or keywords to Tailwind via CSV upload

To bulk upload Pins by CSV, click the blue New Post button and choose Import a CSV (or use the CSV Import button on the Pin Scheduler), then follow the on-screen steps. CSV import is for images already hosted online as URLs; to upload images from your computer, use Upload in the Pin Scheduler toolbar instead. You can also bulk upload keywords from the Saved Keywords page.

📝 Uploading images from your computer? You can upload them directly in Pin Scheduler — click Upload in the toolbar and select up to 100 images at once. CSV import is for when your images are already hosted online as URLs.

Bulk upload via CSV is supported for multiple features:

  • Bulk uploading Pins to create drafts

  • Bulk uploading Keywords you want to save in Tailwind for your SEO strategy

To Bulk Upload Pins:

  1. Click on the Blue "New Post" button in the left hand navigation bar - and then select "Import a CSV".

  2. Navigate to the Pin Scheduler page and select the "CSV Import" button from the action bar at the top of the page.

From there, follow the instructions on the page.

To assist in preparing your file for CSV upload, you can download a sample file with the supported column headers, as well as download a list of your Pinterest Board IDs, should you want to assign drafts to specific boards before uploading the file.

The Pin Scheduler also makes your Board IDs easy to find without leaving the CSV import flow. On the first import screen, an info box gives you two options: Download board IDs and titles (saves a CSV listing your boards and their IDs) and View board IDs (opens a table of your boards, each shown with its Board ID and a copy-to-clipboard button). In the column-mapping step, a Download your Board IDs link also appears on any column you map to the Board ID field. The "Not sure of your Board IDs?" card in the right-hand sidebar is still available as well.

The import template also includes an optional AI_Generated column. Set a row's value to true and that row's imported draft will be marked with Pinterest's AI-generated/modified content disclosure label at import — the same label applied by the manual "Mark as AI-generated" toggle on a draft — and you can still edit that disclosure on a per-draft basis afterward. This is useful if you need to disclose AI-created or AI-edited images without opening and marking each draft by hand.

⚠️ Before you upload, double-check two things that commonly cause issues:

  • Every row needs a valid image URL. If an image cell is left blank, Tailwind will substitute a placeholder graphic instead of flagging the row — and nothing currently stops that placeholder draft from being scheduled or published as-is. Review your file for empty image cells before importing.

  • Your scheduling date column must be named exactly Scheduled_Time. If it's named something else (e.g. "Date"), Tailwind won't map it, and affected rows may get scheduled immediately instead of at your intended time.

Please note: If you are using the legacy "Publisher" page, CSV import is not available in that product. Please use the modern "Pin Scheduler" page to access this feature.

To Upload Keywords:

Go to the Saved Keywords page and click "Import CSV" near the top right hand corner of the page.

From there, follow the prompts to upload you keywords into Tailwind.

Your csv file for keywords should contain two columns: Keyword Term and URLs.

The URLS field is used to map specific pages on your site to specific keywords you want to target with that page. Doing so will make it easier for you to create Pins for that page later, using the keywords you wish to target.
